Two motorists died instantly Monday morning at 5:10 a.m. in a high-speed chase on I-74 at the Wabash River overpass. Dead are Charles Cooper, 22, Griggsville, Ill., and Charles Kibbey, 38, Carson, Iowa.  Fountain County Sheriff said at the time of the crash, Cooper was eastbound in the wrong lane and crashed head-on into Kibbey’s westbound auto.    Due to bridge repairs, the two westbound lanes are closed and westbound traffic is routed across the bridge on the eastbound lanes, making eastbound two-way traffic.  The re-routing is well marked with signs and double yellow lines.   Investigating with Cruea was State Trooper Jerry VanMeter. The Covington fire department was called to the scene to wash gasoline from the pavement.   The two men are the third and fourth traffic victims in Fountain County for 1973. – thanks to S
